Job Summary

Lead the complete civil engineering design for road/highway projects within the Transport team, providing technical leadership and mentoring to Civil Design staff. Collaborate with the Transport Civil Team Lead and Project Managers to deliver quality design services, meet revenue projections, and ensure design standards and safety practices are observed while delivering timely, high-quality engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Responsible for the complete civil engineering design requirement of the project.
•Provides the necessary technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to the Civil Design staff to assure total quality of all engineering efforts.
•Assists the Transport Civil Team Lead and Project Managers in delivering quality design services and meet revenue projections and client expectations.
•Develops the appropriate quality engineering solutions, coordinates the activities of other group members and assists in production as needed to meet schedules.
•Ensure that Design Standards are met and that design quality procedures are observed.

Key Requirements

•BS in Civil Engineering
•4-6 years relevant work experience
•Experience of geometric design of highways using Civil 3D, 12D, Open Roads, Dynamo, Open Rail, ProjectWise or similar software packages
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Word and MS Excel is also desirable
•Extensive knowledge of relevant industry related Australian Standards, local Road Authority Standards and other road and civil design standards; understanding of safety in design practices
