Job Summary

Provide ophthalmology care by performing complete eye examinations, assessing conditions, and determining and/or implementing treatment plans. Perform elective and emergency surgeries within a specialist ophthalmologist scope. Monitor daily eye care to meet Joint Commission accreditation standards, participate in QA programs, and coordinate with the Medical Administrator on curative and preventive patient programs. Support quality improvement, peer review, staff orientation, schedules, and compliance with international guidelines, DHA regulations, and Joint Commission International norms.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform professional duties of an ophthalmologist, including complete eye examinations and assessments.
•Determine and/or implement the course of treatment.
•Perform elective and emergency surgery within the scope of the specialist ophthalmologist.
•Monitor eye care daily to ensure Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital standards are met.
•Oversee QA programs, participate in professional quality standards, orient staff when requested, and support peer review, schedules, and compliance with DHA regulations and Joint Commission International norms.

Key Requirements

•Graduate of an approved Medical School, plus internship with certification or equivalent by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
•Specialized training or at least 5 years experience as a practicing ophthalmologist.
•Excellent command of oral and written English; knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
•Must have thorough knowledge of medical ethics, including confidentiality obligations.
•Current licensure in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, UAE.
