Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the product design team as a player/coach, managing and developing designers through critique, design reviews, and occasional hands-on projects.
  • •Own design principles, standards, and guardrails, including the decision record and interaction models/patterns used across the product.
  • •Account for the Help Scout Design System (HSDS) by setting priorities and driving adoption across Product and Engineering.
  • •Own how AI appears in the product, ensuring a consistent point of view on trustworthy AI experiences.
  • •Evolve the design operating model as AI accelerates delivery, including workflows, tooling standards, design debt, and reinvestment of freed capacity.

  • •10+ years in product design and 3+ years managing designers, with accountability for end-to-end product experience.
