Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Complete tree inventories, assessments, and related arboriculture field work.
  • •Determine study scope and prepare tree removal permits by responding to tree protection by-law stipulations.
  • •Contribute to arboriculture and urban forestry policies for clients.
  • •Assess impacts to trees from proposed developments and infrastructure, including Species at Risk interpretation.
  • •Write arborist reports and assist with proposal and occasional presentation preparation; provide guidance on implementing tree protection measures and visit sites when required.

Key Requirements

  • •A degree or diploma in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Studies, Landscape Architecture, or Landscape Technology (or similar relevant education).
  • •3+ years of professional experience in consulting arboriculture (recent graduates with strong relevant experience may be considered).
  • •Designation as an ISA Certified Arborist (attained or in progress).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong tree identification and assessment ability.
  • •Experience working in CAD to develop Tree Preservation and Restoration Plans, plus familiarity with municipal tree by-laws and conservation authority regulations.
