Key Responsibilities

  • •Determine PCB layer stack-up, select components, perform placement and routing feasibility studies, and manage digital/analog/RF/power signal routing.
  • •Create multilayer PCB layouts (20+ layers) including high-speed differential routing, length matching, controlled impedance, and power/ground plane design.
  • •Run pre- and post-layout SI/PI simulations to mitigate crosstalk, reflections, and EMI/EMC issues.
  • •Perform DRC/ERC checks, peer reviews, and design audits; collaborate with hardware/firmware engineers for functional validation and prototype bring-up support.
  • •Generate fabrication deliverables (Gerber, ODB++, IPC-2581, drill files, stack-up and assembly files) and incorporate manufacturability feedback from fabrication and assembly partners.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering OR 3+ years of professional experience with PCB layout in lieu of a degree.
  • •2+ years of PCB layout and routing experience involving modern passive/active electronics, surface-mount, RF components, fine pitch, and/or high pin density components.
  • •Experience with ECAD libraries and library configuration management (1+ years).
  • •Demonstrated understanding of design for manufacturability, assembly, and test (DFM/DFA/DFA analysis).
  • •Proficiency with Mentor Xpedition and/or Altium Designer (Mentor Xpedition preferred).
