Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage construction administration, including drafting change orders, resolving field issues, interpreting specifications, and communicating with the contractor.
  • •Oversee construction oversight, inspections, quality control, material sampling, field/laboratory testing, and quality assurance.
  • •Review daily reports and use real-time project data to manage/monitor/document/oversee RFIs, design changes, and contractor non-conformance implementation.
  • •Utilize project documentation software systems (AASHTOWare, ProjectSolve, GoFormZ, Procore) to streamline final documentation requirements and support safe, actionable reporting.
  • •Coordinate decision-making and facilitate progress meetings; serve as intermediary between contractor and owner for contentious design issues and support claim defense and contract modification negotiations.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Technology) or equivalent experience.
  • •Minimum of 12 years directing construction activities and crews on civil projects.
  • •Prequalification as a Construction Engineer Level 1/Construction Manager with ODOT for work governed by Ohio Specifications and/or certification as an Engineer-In-Training recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors, with at least two years of engineering experience.
  • •ACI Level I Certification, Aggregate Sampling Technician, Grade & Drain Level I Technician, Asphalt Field Technician, Structural Inspection Level I, KEPSC-RI qualification, and Work Zone Traffic Control Technician.
  • •Ability to read and understand contract documents and demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
