Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and drive the CVUK risk strategy aligned with Group risk strategy, business plan, and FCA expectations, including local risk appetite maintenance.
  • •Own and lead the Group financial and prudential risk framework (credit, liquidity, capital, cost, market, concentration) and lead ICARA/end-to-end processes including capital planning and wind-down planning.
  • •Design and lead stress testing and scenario analysis for crypto market shocks, client behavior, liquidity withdrawal, counterparty failure, and operational disruption.
  • •Set and monitor crypto-related risk limits (liquidity providers, exchanges, custodians, banking partners), oversee counterparty due diligence and concentration risk, and manage contingency planning.
  • •Provide oversight of custody/safeguarding and operational resilience risk, including RCSA, incidents/issues, control testing, outsourcing/third-party risk, maintain risk register/KRIs, and deliver board-level decision-ready reporting.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven hands-on experience with crypto-assets and digital assets.
  • •Strong risk management experience in regulated financial services, with demonstrable depth across financial and prudential risk (credit, liquidity, capital, market, concentration, cost).
  • •Expertise in FCA requirements, including the UK cryptoasset regime and prudential frameworks such as IFPR and ICARA/ICAAP.
  • •Proven experience managing outsourced or shared service risk functions, including defining service requirements, monitoring delivery quality, and escalating shortfalls.
  • •Proven ability to engage with boards and committees, build and lead an independent risk function, and meet FCA fit and proper expectations.
