Job Function: Transportation & Fleet Operations

Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate vehicles according to applicable state and federal transportation laws while transporting loads safely and on schedule.
  • •Navigate truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas, follow loading crew signals, and assist with loading/unloading using specialized equipment as needed.
  • •Maintain delivery paperwork including signed invoices and shipping documents, and deliver documentation to the appropriate shipping office after completion.
  • •Perform routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor.
  • •Arrange trailers in shipping yards to optimize loading patterns and complete other related duties as assigned.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle weight operated (state-dependent).
  • •Pass required background and drug testing under applicable federal and/or state DOT regulations.
  • •Pass a DOT physical for trucks driven over 10k lbs.
  • •Provide professional, courteous customer service and communicate effectively with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and handle prolonged periods sitting in a trailer cab.
