Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the SPT Sustainability Manager in developing, implementing, and managing the Environmental and Sustainability Strategy, including biodiversity and natural capital ambitions.
  • •Support delivery of sustainability and environmental commitments within RIIO-T2 and T3 capex programmes, including stakeholder planning and addressing blockers.
  • •Monitor nature strategy delivery, identify slippage and gaps, and propose remedial actions to management.
  • •Lead standing and ad-hoc sustainability working groups and provide technical expertise to support directors and the sustainability manager.
  • •Support sustainability culture building through training, awareness, and communication, and review/verify regulatory reporting returns prior to final approval.

Key Requirements

  • •Degree education in a relevant discipline, preferably with or working towards a post graduate qualification in sustainability, environmental, or business management.
  • •Awareness of sustainability requirements for an electricity network operator.
  • •Demonstrable experience working in a specialist team and delivering cross-business activities.
  • •Demonstrable experience liaising, negotiating, and influencing at a senior level.
  • •In-depth knowledge of the sustainability agenda and strong technical knowledge in relevant topics such as biodiversity, carbon/energy, responsible sourcing, or planning policy.
