Job Summary

Manage end-to-end public sector contract lifecycles for cloud/SaaS, software subscriptions, professional services, and data processing agreements—supporting bids, framework call-offs, negotiations, execution, and ongoing administration. Partner with Sales and RFP teams during live procurement processes, advising on UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 obligations. Coordinate with legal and security stakeholders across Elastic’s distributed teams and help improve legal workflows using automation.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage the full legal lifecycle of public sector contracts from bid support and framework call-off negotiations through execution and ongoing contract management.
•Review ITT/RFP requirements, draft legal responses, and advise on contracting authority terms and conditions during live procurement processes.
•Advise internally on regulatory and compliance obligations for supplying cloud services to the public sector.
•Collaborate with UK legal leadership and security stakeholders across Elastic’s distributed legal organization.
•Stay current on legal and regulatory developments and proactively advise the business on implications, including improving cross-department workflow processes using automation.

Key Requirements

•Qualified and legally permitted to practice law in the United Kingdom.
•4+ years’ experience drafting and negotiating technology contracts (cloud/SaaS, software subscriptions, professional services, data processing agreements) with public sector customers.
•Strong working knowledge of public procurement law, public law principles, and contract law, including cyber and information security obligations in technology contracts.
•Credible engagement with technical and security teams, including requirements for Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 compliance, and alignment with NCSC guidance.
•Ability to balance legal risks with business strategy and manage complex technology contracts for public sector entities.
•Experience knowledge of relevant laws in regions such as the United Kingdom, France, Australia, and Germany.
