Key Responsibilities

  • •Account for overall business unit management and performance, including financial management, HR/crewing, HSSEQ, operational delivery, and technical oversight.
  • •Ensure safe and compliant operation of vessels and tugs, including maintenance, inspections, dry dockings, installations, conversions, and asset acquisition planning.
  • •Oversee technical and safety reviews, including vetting performance, PSC/Flag observations, safety committee operations, and review/closure of incident reports.
  • •Manage staff and resources: lead, develop, and monitor the local team; handle recruitment and industrial relations; resolve grievances.
  • •Drive commercial and business growth for spot tugs by understanding the spot market, networking with clients/brokers, negotiating charter parties/BIMCO contracts, and supporting proposals/invoicing/collections.
Travel: Extensive travel

Key Requirements

  • •1st Class Master Mariner with Certificate of Competency
  • •Substantial experience in the Tug industry and shore-based ship management
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of quality and safety management systems in the marine industry
  • •Basic literacy in financial management, P&L, and budgeting
  • •Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software applications; ISM Auditor accreditation preferred
