Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead consulting teams through investigation, design, and execution of South Boston Manufacturing Center’s large-scale, multi-decade remediation program, including fractured bedrock hydrogeologic systems.
  • •Define and execute remediation strategies that are scientifically robust, regulatorily defensible, and cost-effective, integrating regulatory requirements and site-specific response actions.
  • •Oversee groundwater modeling and contaminant fate-and-transport evaluations, including MODFLOW and Equivalent Porous Media methodologies.
  • •Manage consulting firms and contractors, including developing long-range remediation strategies, budget forecasts, environmental expenditure projections, and reserve justification.
  • •Serve as the primary technical interface with GFET and coordinate regulatory correspondence and public engagement, while supporting Brazil remediation and due diligence activities.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 110,000 - 165,300 annually

Key Requirements

  • •BS, MS, or PhD in Environmental Engineering, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline from an accredited program, with 15+ years of progressively responsible environmental remediation experience.
  • •Demonstrated leadership guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex investigations, feasibility studies, conceptual site modeling, remedial design, and remedy implementation.
  • •Strong working knowledge of State and Federal regulatory frameworks, including CERCLA, RCRA, CWA, CAA, UST regulations, and the Massachusetts Contingency Plan.
  • •Ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships with regulators, consultants, contractors, senior executives, and cross-functional internal teams.
  • •Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including conveying complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
