Key Responsibilities

  • •Review federal and state tax returns and perform on-site reviews with business partners when required.
  • •Provide governance and oversight, including tax risk assessments and audits, to ensure compliance.
  • •Monitor product and tax laws, analyze enterprise impact, and communicate implications and implementation guidance to stakeholders.
  • •Research and analyze product tax risks, recommending tax strategies for launches and product changes; design and test tax withholding and reporting logic with IT and vendors.
  • •Manage and review user access to key product tax systems, oversee responses to IRS/state information requests and external auditors, and support tax analytics forecasting and training.

Key Requirements

  • •Undergraduate degree with studies in tax, law, or accounting.
  • •Progress toward CPA certification is preferred (CPA, Series 6 and/or LOMA preferred).
  • •Minimum of six years of tax experience in financial services, multi-line insurance, public accounting, or law.
  • •Knowledge of statutory and/or GAAP accounting, plus research techniques and tax/withholding systems.
  • •Ability to communicate with management, insurance regulators, IRS agents, and consultants while analyzing tax consequences and anticipating regulatory questions.
