Job Summary

Design and implement high-impact detection and response capabilities to strengthen Canva’s security posture. Lead incident response coordination and escalation, triage and investigate security alerts, and drive containment, eradication, and recovery. Build automation workflows and response playbooks to reduce analyst toil and improve mean-time-to-respond. Enhance security platform tooling using SOAR, SIEM, and forensics, partnering with CTI, Application Security, and Red Team.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead incident response coordination and act as escalation point for security incidents across Canva’s cloud-native infrastructure, including on-call participation.
•Investigate and triage security alerts and coordinate containment, eradication, and recovery activities for security events.
•Lead and contribute to post-incident reviews, translating learnings into improved detections, playbooks, and response processes.
•Build and maintain automation workflows and response playbooks to streamline investigation and improve mean-time-to-respond.
•Develop and improve security response tooling and capabilities, including case management, automation, SOAR, SIEM, and forensics.

Key Requirements

•Demonstrable experience in incident response, DFIR, or security operations, coordinating security events from detection through resolution.
•Experience with enterprise security platforms including SIEM (Elastic Security, Splunk or similar), EDR (SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Defender or similar), and SOAR platforms.
•Working knowledge of at least one major cloud provider (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and related cloud attack techniques.
•Working knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Ansible) and DevOps practices.
•Proficiency in scripting/programming languages (Python, Go or similar) and advanced detection techniques including behavioral analytics, anomaly detection, and GenAI workflows.
