Key Responsibilities

  • •Draft, review, and negotiate routine and mission-critical commercial contracts, including professional services agreements, master services agreements, nondisclosure agreements, license agreements, and technology hardware/software agreements
  • •Collaborate with business teams to advise on legal issues, approval processes, policies/procedures, and business strategy
  • •Provide business-focused legal advice for corporate transactions, integration of acquired businesses, and strategic initiatives such as the Compass Concierge program
  • •Support continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes, including contract lifecycle management and contract automation (templates, trainings, playbooks)
  • •Advise on legal issues across projects impacting multiple aspects of Compass’s business

Key Requirements

  • •JD and membership in good standing in at least one state bar (NY or CA bar a plus)
  • •3+ years of top-tier law firm and/or in-house experience focusing on corporate matters
  • •Excellent analytical, drafting, and negotiation skills with the ability to make well-reasoned legal and business judgments
  • •Experience with SpotDraft (contract management system)
  • •Detail-oriented, organized, able to work independently and manage multiple projects under deadline pressure
