Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently identify and manage a portfolio of 100–125 prospects/donors in the region, progressing major gift prospects through the qualification-to-stewardship cycle and documenting interactions in the donor management system.
  • •Develop and pitch compelling written and oral proposals aligned to WGU fundraising priorities and donor investment interests.
  • •Qualify individual, corporate, and foundation prospects capable of contributing $100K or greater and build long-term relationships to retain and upgrade donors.
  • •Collaborate with the Advancement team, Regional Vice President, and internal stakeholders to create engagement opportunities and ensure proposals/reports are properly prepared and vetted.
  • •Report relevant donor activity and strategy to the Executive Director of Development and comply with processes, deadlines, budgets, policies, and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
  • •Six (6) years of experience cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, including fundraising and relationship management.
  • •Experience cultivating, closing, and stewarding six-figure gifts.
  • •Strong philanthropic connections and residence in the Northeast Region: New York, Washington D.C., Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
  • •Demonstrated ability to deliver persuasive, written/oral presentations and communicate effectively.
