Key Responsibilities

  • •Pull chicks and prepare them for processing, including disposing of substandard chicks.
  • •Wash and disinfect the pull room and clean/sanitize hatchery areas such as the chick room and main hall.
  • •Monitor hatchers and setters, evaluating chicks prior to shipments and ensuring shipment of healthy birds.
  • •Pitch chickens onto the belt, remove baskets from stacked equipment, and run the chick counter while placing papers in chick boxes.
  • •Perform additional duties such as operating hoses, setting eggs, stacking/unstacking hatcher baskets, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Key Requirements

  • •12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no employment gaps greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (or 18 months if laid off or providing child/elder care).
  • •Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full-time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
  • •Rehire criteria includes a minimum waiting period of 180 days and no more than 3 prior times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
  • •Meet and maintain certification requirements for wearing a full face respirator (TM must remain clean shaven during scheduled work hours).
