Job Summary

Lead safety leadership and strategic direction for a prepared foods plant by driving continuous improvement, building a sustainable safety culture, and implementing safety programs site-wide. Serve as a key member of the Plant Management Team, providing guidance on the safety management system, OSHA compliance, and ergonomic initiatives. Inspect facilities, maintain OSHA documentation, conduct trainings (including LOTO and hazard communication), investigate incidents, and report trends to prevent accidents.

Key Responsibilities

•Formulate and drive a proactive local safety strategy to establish a healthy and operationally safe plant.
•Lead and measure site-wide safety programs, recommending initiatives to minimize losses due to accidents.
•Ensure compliance with OSHA standards by inspecting machinery, equipment, working conditions, and maintaining OSHA files and documentation.
•Conduct safety inspections and procedural audits, communicate safety policy/procedure changes to management, and deliver training (e.g., ergonomics, emergency response, LOTO, hazard communication, PPE).
•Investigate safety-related incidents and complete required reports for insurance carriers, risk management systems, and the corporate safety office.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Management Engineering, or Industrial Technology (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•3+ years of progressive experience in environmental safety and sustainability management.
•Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard communication, accident investigation, and safety training methods.
•Knowledge of industry best practices for safety and environmental approaches, including PSM and RMP safety practices.
•Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations; strong written and verbal communication.
