Job Summary

Lead geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through design and construction support with WSP’s Ground Engineering and Materials team on Vancouver Island. Based in Nanaimo, you’ll prepare technical studies and reports, manage geotechnical investigation programs (including subcontractors and tender support), and evaluate complex subsurface risks such as settlement, slope stability, liquefaction, and frost effects. You’ll also oversee field programs and collaborate across disciplines on highways, bridges, dams, and buildings.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and deliver geotechnical engineering projects from investigation through design and construction support.
•Prepare technical studies and reports with clear, actionable recommendations.
•Collaborate across disciplines to support infrastructure projects including highways, bridges, dams, and buildings.
•Manage geotechnical investigation programs, including subcontractor coordination and tendering support.
•Oversee field programs including drilling, in-situ testing, and construction monitoring.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: 94,100 - 138,000

Key Requirements

•10+ years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
•Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical focus.
•Registered or eligible for registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC.
•Strong proficiency with geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, Rocscience).
•Proven experience managing investigation programs and multidisciplinary projects.
