Job Summary

Lead one or more backend engineering teams building scalable, fault-tolerant systems and APIs that power Agoda’s global travel platform. Drive end-to-end execution of AI-focused product and platform initiatives with strong engineering scalability, alignment, and delivery. Be hands-on with coding, coaching, and architecture decisions across the full stack, while developing people and running agile, DevOps-oriented engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive end-to-end execution of AI-focused product and platform initiatives, improving scalability, alignment, and delivery.
•Be hands-on with coding and provide expert coaching and guidance to engineers through code review and technical mentorship.
•Do full-stack engineering across infrastructure, client, backend, performance, and data to support mission-critical services.
•Lead system architecture and engineering practices, making strong decisions about how systems are engineered and maintained.
•Develop people by inspiring team members and integrating high-performing engineers into the business.

Key Requirements

•Extremely proficient in at least one programming language (Java, Scala, or C#).
•Strong systems architecture experience in complex, scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
•Demonstrable experience as a system owner with operational responsibility.
•Proficient in lower-level engineering (garbage collection, context switching, threading).
•Experience running engineering teams, including 5+ direct reports, within a successful agile development team.
