Lead strategic automation and equipment projects for the pork industry by translating automation needs into viable engineering solutions. Develop preliminary designs, specifications, cost estimates, feasibility studies, and proposal scopes; coordinate vendor/contractor execution and installation scheduling. Manage contract administration, bid package reviews, budget control, and engineering documentation. Drive employee development and coaching while reporting progress to management and continuously strengthening robotic and controls knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

•Develop preliminary engineering designs and specifications, including feasibility studies, economic studies, and cost estimates; determine design criteria and validate field work with as-built drawings.
•Coordinate equipment vendor direction, layouts, utility requirements, and installation schedules; review consultant deliverables and maintain project documentation (drawings, manuals, parts lists, specifications).
•Conduct pre-project planning and operational reviews to assess feasibility, define scope of work, manage RFPs, and submit progress reports to management.
•Administer contracts by reviewing bid packages for compliance, preparing project justifications/budget analyses/calculations/plans/schedules, and monitoring installations to meet specs and budgets.
•Lead people through employee development and coaching while improving robotic and controls knowledge to execute innovative solutions.

Travel: Extensive travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 105,000 - 140,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related field) plus 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•2+ years of leadership experience including team development and management.
•Apply engineering principles to operational and design issues.
•Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling.
•Project Management, Contract Administration, and national codes/standards interpretation skills, plus proficiency in engineering economics, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Excel/Word.
•Other skills noted include multi-million dollar project management experience and knowledge related to food processing and the meat industry.
