Job Summary

Support the Nuclear Effects Survivability Team by planning, executing, and verifying/validating nuclear radiation characterization testing for electronics used in radio and display systems. Apply electrical testing expertise across parts-, circuit-, and system-level radiation effects (TID, NDD, gamma dose rate, and SEE), develop test plans and reports, and help prepare technical documentation, design reviews, and risk mitigation guidance. Manage multiple projects and travel domestically as needed.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, document, test, and troubleshoot electrical hardware.
•Evaluate radiation response of semiconductor devices (e.g., MOSFETs, DC/DC converters, FPGAs, DDR memory) and advise parts selection based on test data.
•Develop test plans and produce test reports for nuclear radiation characterization testing.
•Lead program personnel through test procedures to meet cost and schedule constraints.
•Execute radiation effects testing events at external facilities (up to 25% travel) and serve as a radiation-effects subject matter expert.

Key Requirements

•Obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Top Secret security clearance (selected candidate subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements).
•Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
•Electrical testing experience including test design, troubleshooting, executing test plans, analysis, and writing test reports.
•Circuit design experience including analyzing circuits, using schematic capture tools, PCB layout/design, and providing board design guidance.
•Ability to read/understand electrical schematics and apply engineering judgment with minimal oversight.
