Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage the physical Platform “Metal” environment from bare metal through Kubernetes.
  • •Operate and manage cluster networking components (load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, routing protocols, and cross-cluster communication).
  • •Manage scheduling and autoscaling for Kubernetes workloads.
  • •Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for common CSP resources, including versioning and compatibility for Crossplane/Terraform and providers.
  • •Partner with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand their needs and invest in the right platform capabilities.

Key Requirements

  • •Experience building and operating distributed systems, ideally in a remote-first environment with strong communication and consensus practices.
  • •Hands-on development in Go, Python, and/or Shell, with ability to write design docs and collaborate across the full code lifecycle including integration testing.
  • •Experience managing infrastructure and workloads on Kubernetes, including familiarity with scheduling and participation in an on-call rotation.
  • •Datacenter experience and grounding in both operators and developers to build better platforms for users.
  • •Experience with platform provisioning and infrastructure automation such as Terraform and Crossplane (plus bonus familiarity with Cluster-API, Tinkerbell, Talos, and/or Ceph).
