Key Responsibilities

  • •Independently perform HVAC design tasks including load calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts, and system sizing.
  • •Prepare primary HVAC design elements for PS&E packages under general guidance from senior/principal engineers.
  • •Develop HVAC specifications and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards; contribute to technical cost estimates and effort assessments.
  • •Coordinate integrated HVAC designs with structural, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection disciplines to avoid conflicts.
  • •Perform technical quality reviews (including self-checks), investigate discrepancies, and guide junior engineers through day-to-day technical support and training.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
  • •5–7 years of HVAC engineering design experience, with ability to independently execute primary design elements.
  • •Solid HVAC system knowledge (e.g., central air handling units, VAV, chilled water/heating hot water distribution, exhaust/ventilation, split/VRF).
  • •Proficiency in HVAC load calculation and design tools (Trane TRACE, HAP, eQUEST, or equivalent).
  • •Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE 62.1, 90.1, 55, IMC, and local energy/building codes).
