Key Responsibilities

•Run catastrophe modeling software to analyze client, industry, and notional portfolios for evaluation of licensed catastrophe models.
•Support model validation activities including sensitivity testing, scenario analysis, and back-testing against historical events and claims.
•Analyze large exposure, hazard, and loss datasets to identify key drivers of catastrophe losses and differences between models.
•Validate catastrophe model components using claims data and public data sources (e.g., NOAA, USGS, USFS).
•Communicate results by translating technical findings into insights, visualizations, and reports for stakeholders and clients.

Key Requirements

•At least a Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Structural/Civil Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Earth/Environmental Science, or another technical/analytical discipline.
•5+ years of relevant experience with strong quantitative and analytical skills.
•Demonstrated experience handling large datasets and building/performing advanced statistical or engineering analyses.
•Proficiency in at least one of: Python, R, SQL, MATLAB (or similar scientific computing languages).
•Some familiarity with catastrophe models and insurance/reinsurance concepts, plus strong verbal and written communication.
