Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and approve inverter test specifications and change requests, acting as the manufacturing test authority for traction inverter validation.
  • •Analyze and improve inverter EOL and sub-assembly test sequences, limits, cycle time, process flow, and failure-mode handling.
  • •Design and own inverter test system hardware, including system layout, HV/LV routing, connectorization, shielding, grounding, and thermal considerations.
  • •Develop modular, scalable test applications with operator interfaces and implement databases for inverter test parameters, serial-level results, and traceability.
  • •Lead supplier sourcing/RFQs and commissioning/validation (GR&R, red-rabbit units, fault injection/simulation), then launch into production with on-floor ramp support and training.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Controls Systems Engineering, Electrical and Controls Engineering, or Automation and Control Engineering, with at least 5 years of professional experience.
  • •5–8 years developing and launching automated test equipment in high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • •Direct experience testing EV traction inverters or high-power power electronics in a manufacturing/production setting.
  • •Strong understanding of inverter architectures and high-power inverter components, including thermal management.
  • •Hands-on experience with inverter EOL and in-process testing (e.g., functional power testing, PWM validation, efficiency testing, isolation resistance, hipot testing).
