Job Summary

Own end-to-end delivery of ML-powered product features for Zendesk’s AI Copilot, from data pipelines and model integration to serving, monitoring, and continuous iteration in production. Partner with scientists to operationalize research into reliable, user-facing capabilities, build ML infrastructure (LLM integrations, evaluation frameworks), and collaborate with product engineers to tightly integrate ML into the product experience. Improve reliability, performance, and cost efficiency while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver ML-powered product features end-to-end, from data pipelines and model integration through serving, monitoring, and production iteration.
•Work with scientists to productionize research outputs into reliable, user-facing features.
•Build and maintain ML infrastructure including model serving, inference pipelines, LLM integrations, and evaluation frameworks.
•Participate in technical design discussions and architecture decisions, with increasing influence across teams.
•Collaborate with product software engineers to integrate ML capabilities into the broader product experience, improving reliability, performance, and cost efficiency while mentoring junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of software engineering experience with a meaningful focus on ML engineering, MLOps, or building ML-powered products.
•Fluent in Python (Ruby proficiency is a plus) and strong production ML experience including model serving, inference pipelines, and monitoring.
•Experience integrating LLMs into production systems, including prompt engineering, evaluation, and/or multi-provider setups.
•Comfortable working with SQL and data infrastructure, including data pipelines, transformations, and data quality.
•Experience deploying and operating containerized ML systems using Docker and Kubernetes, with cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
