Job Summary

Apply AI research to production robotics problems by building and improving simulation infrastructure, data management systems, model evaluation workflows, and capability deployment. Own projects as a full contributor during a 3–6 month residency, shipping code and improvements that make home robot operations smarter using fleet data. Work across front-end log tooling, back-end data cleaning, and benchmarking for open-source models, culminating in at least one deployed capability at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities

•Apply research-level ideas from AI and robotics literature to production capabilities and infrastructure that ship on real robots.
•Build or improve the data engine, including front-end log review/labeling tools and back-end systems for data cleaning and evaluation benchmarks.
•Scale solutions using fleet data to improve pipelines and systems as robots gain experience.
•Deploy at least one new capability or infrastructure improvement to robots at customer sites before the residency ends.
•Own projects end-to-end during the residency term, shipping tested, maintainable code with direct impact on deployed robotic systems.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent); graduate students in ML or robotics are strongly preferred.
•Proficiency with large Python codebases, experience writing tests, and familiarity with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX).
•Demonstrated ability to prototype independently and rapidly via a portfolio of projects, research, or open-source work.
•Experience training large-scale ML models (visual foundation models, LLMs, generative models) or publishing at top ML conferences.
