Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs (task series 100, 200, 300, 400).
  • •Analyze engineering software and/or firmware against MIL-STD-882E, JSSSEH, AOP-52, and related standards.
  • •Collaborate with software development teams to review and analyze software code and assist with software/firmware analyses.
  • •Coordinate with program management and government approval authorities to gain concurrence with software builds and participate in execution of the Software System Safety Program.
  • •Prepare safety assessment reports and safety program briefs; support software safety technical reviews; manage system safety working groups and interface with stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
  • •Experience with system safety engineering, system engineering, software or firmware engineering, or safety engineering in aerospace, automotive, or medical device.
  • •Experience applying risk assessment concepts such as those included in MIL-STD-882E / DO-178.
  • •Active/existing DoD clearance (preferred).
