Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and control detainee behavior during detention facility operations; restrain by force when necessary using handcuffs and other restraints.
  • •Conduct searches of detainees, vehicles, mail items, and areas for objects capable of concealing contraband.
  • •Escort detainees using handcuffs and approved restraints and maintain uninterrupted custody care and control during off-site transport.
  • •Secure outer perimeter, main gate, and lobby areas in accordance with Post Orders, including wearing required PPE.
  • •Communicate with staff and detainees using approved facility communication devices, handle complaints/grievances/requests, and prepare reports/documentation.

Salary: USD 17.72 - 35.97 hourly

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • •Minimum 1 year experience interacting with the public.
  • •Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • •Valid New York State pistol permit and NYS Armed Guard Card.
  • •Must possess Class C CDL (Class B preferred) and pass extensive background investigation and drug test (pre-employment and random).
