Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, including substation, collection, and transmission systems.
  • •Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems involving variable pitch and variable speed control systems.
  • •Perform mechanical and electrical repair or replacement to correct malfunctions following manufacturers’ requirements.
  • •Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and comply with environmental health and safety programs and internal controls.
  • •Conduct data collection and reporting for wind plant requirements, and perform QA/QC functions and retrofits/design modifications.

Key Requirements

  • •One year college or a technical school certificate, or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; or a High School Diploma or GED.
  • •Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes, megohmmeters, infrared testers, hydraulic torque equipment, alignment and hand/power tools).
  • •Advanced computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and computerized diagnostic/troubleshooting tools.
  • •Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and work in extremely adverse weather conditions.
  • •Valid driver’s license and ability to lift items up to 60 lbs frequently and occasionally up to 100 lbs; weight must not exceed 285 lbs excluding equipment/gear.
