Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical initiatives that automate engineering efforts to guarantee reliability for Elastic’s global infrastructure.
  • •Develop and maintain software, tooling, and automations to grow platform infrastructure and meet scaling demands.
  • •Respond to and prevent repeated customer impact by managing major incidents and prioritized problem management.
  • •Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call rotation to address reliability needs during (mostly) local working hours.
  • •Champion an inclusive environment focused on collaboration and operational excellence, uplifting others through coaching and mentoring.

Key Requirements

  • •A background in software engineering to collaborate with engineers and deliver operational solutions with an SRE perspective.
  • •Experience with public cloud and managed Kubernetes services, ideally operating infrastructure at Kubernetes scale across multiple cloud providers.
  • •Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Crossplane or Terraform.
  • •Proficiency writing non-trivial programs in Golang or other programming languages and working with containerized services like Docker.
  • •Experience leading and improving alerting and major incident management processes, metrics, and systems (e.g., Elastic Stack, Graphite, Prometheus, Influx).
