Key Responsibilities

  • •Own day-to-day leadership of the CDE Market Regulation Department as second-in-command and provide continuity in the Chief Regulatory Officer’s absence.
  • •Drive CDE’s compliance posture across applicable CFTC regulatory requirements by identifying gaps and implementing corrective actions.
  • •Lead internal and external examinations and audits, coordinating responses and ensuring timely resolution of findings.
  • •Partner with trade surveillance personnel to review escalated cases, assess potential rulebook violations, and determine appropriate enforcement actions.
  • •Advise CDE personnel and partner teams on DCM Core Principles, CFTC regulations, and CDE rulebook/policies to strengthen cross-functional alignment.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years providing compliance and regulatory support for CFTC-registered DCMs or derivatives clearing organizations (DCOs).
  • •Direct experience engaging with senior CFTC staff, including the Division of Market Oversight, Division of Clearing and Risk, and Market Participants Division.
  • •Deep knowledge of CFTC Core Principles and the ability to analyze/apply them to ensure DCM compliance.
  • •Strong grasp of market fundamentals, trading practices, and investigative/surveillance techniques to evaluate potential violations.
  • •Ability to synthesize regulatory observations into clear written memoranda and reports for stakeholders, while managing multiple concurrent regulatory workstreams.
