Job Summary

Lead protection systems engineering work for bulk power assets as part of an Electrical Studies, SCADA, and Protection (ESSP) team. You’ll drive protective relaying studies, protection analyses, electrical model development, and relay settings with SCADA integration, while leading client projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and coordinate industry-standard compliance across substations, transmission lines, generators, renewables, industrial, and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, engineer, and study protection systems for equipment across the bulk power system.
•Develop protection analyses including electrical model development, short circuit, time-current coordination, arc flash, and event analysis while maintaining NERC compliance.
•Integrate relay settings and protective relaying schemes with SCADA systems.
•Lead teams on client projects to meet scope, schedule, and budget, and provide technical mentorship to junior engineers.
•Support infrequent onsite site visits to collect data and discuss project specifics with clients.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET accredited).
•10+ years of experience as an electrical engineer delivering Protective Relaying projects for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
•Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain one.
•Ability to travel occasionally depending on project requirements.
•Proven track record upholding workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
