Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform daily inspections of bridges, guideway, elevated structures, retaining walls, foundations, and related civil infrastructure to verify compliance with approved plans and contract requirements.
  • •Monitor contractor activities for structural concrete, reinforcing steel, prestressed/post-tensioned systems, structural steel erection, bearings, expansion joints, precast elements, falsework, and shoring operations.
  • •Review contractor inspection/testing reports, material certifications, concrete placement records, and quality control documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • •Document daily activities, inspection findings, deficiencies, field observations, and photographs using electronic reporting systems; identify non-conforming work and coordinate corrective actions.
  • •Witness and document field testing and acceptance testing, coordinate inspections with specialty inspectors and stakeholders, and assist with punch lists and substantial completion/final acceptance documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •BA/BS plus 6 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education).
  • •Working knowledge of bridge, guideway, railroad, and heavy civil construction methods, structural systems, and contract documents.
  • •Ability to interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, and construction specifications and inspection procedures.
  • •Knowledge of quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) principles and construction inspection practices.
  • •Proficiency with inspection documentation and electronic construction management/reporting tools.
