Job Summary

Lead Torq’s Runtime backend team of five engineers, owning both people development and the technical execution layer of Torq automations. Drive the team’s technical vision, architecture decisions, and reliability improvements at massive scale, including incident response and post-mortems. Partner cross-team to deliver complex initiatives and help evolve the platform from GCP toward a Multi-Cloud architecture, staying hands-on through code reviews and debugging.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead, mentor, and develop a team of five experienced backend engineers.
•Own the team’s technical vision, priorities, execution, and long-term direction.
•Lead design and implementation of architectural changes for reliable operation at massive scale.
•Drive cross-team projects and influence technical decisions beyond the immediate team.
•Lead production incidents and post-mortems, and build processes and infrastructure to prevent issues.

Key Requirements

•At least 2 years of experience managing an engineering team.
•Strong backend engineering experience building complex, high-scale production systems.
•Proven ability to lead technical vision, system design, and architecture discussions.
•Experience leading meaningful end-to-end projects across multiple teams.
•Strong production ownership, including leading incidents, post-mortems, and reliability improvements.
