Key Responsibilities

  • •Attend roadside assistance calls, assess situations, diagnose faults, and repair at scene wherever safe and possible.
  • •Make safety-led decisions on repair versus recovery, arranging professional recovery/dealer workshop attention when needed.
  • •Own each job end-to-end by communicating clearly with customers, setting expectations, and providing reassurance.
  • •Operate and maintain a fully equipped van; manage tools and parts, follow safety procedures, and keep accurate notes in systems.
  • •Meet service, safety, and quality standards while working efficiently toward achievable targets.

  • •Proven experience as a vehicle or roadside technician able to work independently at the scene as the sole decision-maker.
  • •Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills using modern diagnostic equipment to identify issues and choose the safest, fastest route.
  • •Confident, calm customer communication to manage expectations, provide reassurance, and ensure safety.
  • •Comfort with IT, mobile apps, and diagnostic software for accurate data capture.
  • •Relevant technical qualifications (e.g., manufacturer apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds Parts I & II, NVQ/B-Tech diploma) and a full UK driving licence.
