Job Summary

Cost Manager for Health and Life Sciences projects, delivering full cost management from feasibility to completion on refurbishments and new-build schemes. You’ll produce robust cost plans, support procurement and tendering, administer contracts, manage monthly cost reporting, and liaise with NHS trusts, science clients, and multidisciplinary design teams in a fast-paced consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide full cost management services from feasibility through to completion on complex refurbishments and new-build schemes.
•Deliver robust cost plans and cost control throughout the project lifecycle, including procurement and tendering support and contract administration.
•Prepare pricing schedules, tender documentation and monthly cost reports to clients and stakeholders.
•Attend site meetings, negotiate variations with contractors, and manage monthly cost reporting and cash flow.
•Support the preparation of business cases for public funding and assist in value and risk management through structured workshops.

Key Requirements

•Educated to degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management.
•A desire to develop your career and become a Chartered Quantity Surveyor.
•Demonstrable track record of successful outcomes and able to work under own initiative.
•An understanding of typical traditional and design and build contract T&Cs and mechanisms commonly used in the UK.
•Competence in project controls and financial management, maintaining accurate reporting across all project stages and ensuring compliance with client funding requirements and audit standards.
