Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure launch and recovery systems, processes, and infrastructure are designed, maintained, and executed efficiently for reliable flight operations.
  • •Collaborate with mechanical teams to guide reliability initiatives for Starship and Falcon launch pad systems from design through production, operation, and maintenance.
  • •Identify high-risk mechanical and structural processes during build, activation, and refurbishment, then proactively implement process improvements for operational excellence.
  • •Lead root-cause and corrective-action investigations to drive smart solutions to complex component and system-level problems.
  • •Participate in PDR/CDR and work with design reliability to support design for quality/manufacturability, risk mitigation, and appropriate test/inspection methods (including NDE).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
  • •5+ years of experience in a mechanical, manufacturing, or design engineering role.
  • •Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral and Vandenberg.
  • •Experience supporting production, assembly, or refurbishment of complex mechanical or structural systems (including ramp-up/high-tempo operations).
  • •Strong knowledge of quality and reliability tools (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, PFMEA, APQP, control plans, metrology, NDE) for mechanisms and/or structural hardware.
