Key Responsibilities

•Design HVAC systems, including duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection, equipment schedules, and vendor coordination.
•Design complete plumbing systems, including potable water and drainage systems, pump sizing, and water heater selection.
•Design HVAC control systems and integrate with Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA platforms.
•Perform self-quality control reviews of mechanical design drawings, calculations, and specifications prior to submission for senior staff review.
•Conduct field investigations to assess existing site conditions for inclusion in construction documents.

Travel: Low travel

Pay and Benefits

Salary: CAD 110,000 - 130,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities (e.g., water/waste-water treatment)
•Professional Engineer in British Columbia
•Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered
•Preferred 10+ years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for light industrial facilities; knowledge of NBC, BCBC, BCPC, SMACNA, ASHRAE codes/standards; experience with HAP, AutoCAD, REVIT; Building Energy Modeling software (IES, eQuest, Energy Plus, HOT2000, RETScreen); sustainability standards (LEED, Net Zero, Passive House, Envision); fire protection design; ISO quality management; strong written/verbal communication
