Key Responsibilities

  • •Design HVAC systems, including duct and pipe sizing, equipment selection, equipment schedules, and vendor coordination.
  • •Design complete plumbing systems, including potable water and drainage systems, pump sizing, and water heater selection.
  • •Design HVAC control systems and integrate with Building Management Systems (BMS) and SCADA platforms.
  • •Perform self-quality control reviews of mechanical design drawings, calculations, and specifications prior to submission for senior staff review.
  • •Conduct field investigations to assess existing site conditions for inclusion in construction documents.

Salary: CAD 110,000 - 130,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 4+ years designing HVAC and plumbing for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities (e.g., water/waste-water treatment)
  • •Professional Engineer in British Columbia
  • •Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered
  • •Preferred 10+ years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing for light industrial facilities; knowledge of NBC, BCBC, BCPC, SMACNA, ASHRAE codes/standards; experience with HAP, AutoCAD, REVIT; Building Energy Modeling software (IES, eQuest, Energy Plus, HOT2000, RETScreen); sustainability standards (LEED, Net Zero, Passive House, Envision); fire protection design; ISO quality management; strong written/verbal communication
