Key Responsibilities

  • •Be trained and enabled to invent hardware and software technologies for next-generation computing platforms.
  • •Contribute to research that has the potential to directly impact product roadmaps and future product development.
  • •Take on responsibilities that support product development and improve performance and efficiency.
  • •Collaborate within AMD Research to drive research innovations into AMD products.
  • •Apply research engineering skills to areas such as distributed systems and machine learning training workflows.

Key Requirements

  • •Currently enrolled in a US-based university PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Knowledge or experience with C/C++ and/or Python, and interest in applying these skills to research engineering problems.
  • •Experience with FPGA/ASIC-based RTL design and verification, including FPGA deployment/programming and acceleration of cloud applications.
  • •Experience with distributed systems, data center networking, high performance computing, and/or distributed machine learning training.
  • •Familiarity with ML frameworks such as PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
