Job Summary

Lead propulsion engineering for Boeing’s Space Launch Systems (SLS) program, collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to define component requirements, interfaces, specifications, and propulsion envelope drawings. Drive design support through testing, analysis, modeling, and simulation; coordinate qualification/certification testing; and oversee supplier proposals, risk/issue management, and technical interchange reviews. Serve as the propulsion engineering team representative at supplier sites in a hybrid, co-located environment.

Key Responsibilities

•Represent the Boeing propulsion engineering team at supplier sites and provide technical integration leadership for development and execution of project/team plans.
•Define propulsion component requirements and control functional/physical interfaces across propulsion systems (e.g., cryogenic fuel/oxidizer, bi-prop/mono-prop, pneumatic, hydraulic, pyrotechnic).
•Develop and maintain envelope drawings and component specifications to meet customer and regulatory requirements, supporting component design decisions.
•Support testing and analysis (including qualification/certification testing) and assure continued reliability/airworthiness for fielded components.
•Manage propulsion risks/issues/opportunities and support technical interchange meetings, supplier evaluations, failure investigations, and supplier SOW/material procurement planning.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent qualifications directly related to the work.

•Basic office software applications.
•Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and/or Astrodynamics Engineering.
•Experience with propulsion system assembly and testing.
