Key Responsibilities

  • •Design and implement data center electrical systems, including power distribution, emergency power (UPS, generators), lighting, and grounding.
  • •Conduct power load calculations and capacity planning based on IT equipment, cooling systems, and infrastructure demands to support future scalability.
  • •Select and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, UPS units, circuit breakers, and distribution panels in line with safety standards.
  • •Design redundancy and fault-tolerant systems (dual power feeds, backup power, automatic switchover) to ensure continuous operation.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of professional experience in electrical engineering focused on data center infrastructure and power systems.
  • •Design data center electrical systems including power distribution, backup power, and emergency systems using Tier Standard Topology (Uptime Institute, TIA-942, and related standards).
  • •Expertise in load calculations, electrical equipment selection, power distribution design, and redundancy planning, with knowledge of electrical and building codes (IBC, IFC, NEC, IEEE, ASHRAE 90.1, and local regulations).
  • •Hands-on use of electrical design and simulation tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DIALux, SKM Power Tools (or similar).
  • •Experience with arc flash calculations, short circuit coordination studies, and reviewing contractor submittals (shop drawings, submittals, RFIs).
