Key Responsibilities

  • •Interpret technical documents and assemble components/units per drawings and written instructions.
  • •Prepare and align materials and parts, select tools, and perform drilling, reaming, countersinking, fastening, and sealing in the correct sequence.
  • •Use appropriate PPE to apply sealant, Alodine, primer, adhesives, and special finishes; ensure parts meet quality and EPI procedures.
  • •Check work after each operation for defects and cleanliness, and support product/component acceptance testing and troubleshooting.
  • •Install bushings and bearings (including press fitting methods) and install fluid/hydraulic fittings and connectors; perform electrical bonding and mentor subordinates.

Key Requirements

  • •Trade certification mechanical or a relevant diploma with proven experience in aerospace OEM structure assembly.
  • •Minimum 5 years’ experience as an aerospace sheet metal assembler for class 1 aerostructures.
  • •Experience with aerospace OEMs and sheet metal assembly processes.
  • •Working knowledge of assembly tooling (jigs), and the use/repair of pneumatic assembly tools.
  • •Understanding of design models and ERP system; knowledge of Lean manufacturing and improvement concepts.
