Job Summary

Lead utility meter installation and service activities for Honeywell’s Industrial Automation Smart Energy team. You’ll perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of smart meters and communications devices; troubleshoot complex issues with internal teams and customers; ensure safety and utility-regulatory compliance; and conduct quality audits. You’ll also train new hires via Operator Qualification sessions and supervise an assigned cohort of field technicians.

•Lead and perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of utility metering equipment including smart meters and related communication devices.
•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and experienced field service technicians.
•Collaborate with internal teams and customers to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
•Ensure compliance with safety standards and utility regulations during all installation and service activities.
•Lead and administer new hire Operator Qualification training and conduct weekly refresher training sessions; supervise an assigned cohort of field technicians.

Key Requirements

•5+ years of experience in field service operations supporting utility meter installations, meter exchanges, commissioning, maintenance, and repair activities.
•5+ years of experience with smart metering technologies, including communication infrastructure, and meter data collection platforms.
•5+ years of experience using diagnostic and testing tools to perform installation verification, system troubleshooting, and performance analysis of utility metering equipment.
•5+ years of experience interpreting technical documentation, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and utility regulations to support accurate installation and service delivery.
•Technical certification or degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
