Job Summary

Own the launch and daily management of Arango’s new India office in Hyderabad. Lead office setup and leasing, coordinate IT procurement and vendor selection to create a day-one ready workspace, and ensure full compliance across HR operations (including POSH) and local labor requirements. Serve as the local leadership point of contact, providing high-level engineering site management and reporting setup milestones and budget spend to the global HQ.

Key Responsibilities

•Drive the successful launch and daily management of Arango’s new Indian subsidiary as the founding member of the India office.
•Identify, negotiate, and execute lease agreements and oversee office setup in Hyderabad.
•Coordinate with IT for procurement of hardware, high-speed networking, security systems, and office furniture; select and manage local vendors for housekeeping and facility maintenance.
•Partner with HR and Finance on local HR policies, employee handbook, payroll, and compliance with Indian labor laws; ensure POSH Act compliance and local leave policies; recruit the core engineering team from sourcing to onboarding.
•Provide high-level management for the engineering site, ensuring project timelines and quality standards; act as the primary point of contact for global HQ with regular progress updates.

Key Requirements

•10+ years in operations or engineering management, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role within the Indian software/tech industry.
•Proven track record setting up a foreign entity’s first office in India from “zero to one”.
•Deep familiarity with Indian labor laws, MCA filing processes, and GST/Taxation frameworks.
•Exceptional project management skills with the ability to work autonomously in a high-pressure startup environment.
•Fluent in English (written and spoken) and the local regional language, with excellent negotiation skills.
