Key Responsibilities

  • •Carry out health and safety and compliance checks using provided digital systems in line with Bupa Standard Operating Procedures and compliance tools.
  • •Maintain buildings and equipment by completing maintenance and repair tasks to a high standard and ensuring internal decoration meets first-impression expectations.
  • •Manage defects by reporting issues, obtaining quotes, and managing repairs with Bupa-approved contractors; report irreparable defects to the appropriate manager.
  • •Ensure safety and cleanliness of the care home and grounds meet requirements including Environmental Health, Fire Authority, Legionella Risk Assessment, and Health & Safety regulations.
  • •Support refurbishment and capex programmes with minimal disruption, keep tools and equipment securely maintained, and assist with induction on emergency exits and evacuation procedures.

Key Requirements

  • •Understand building services including heating, hot/cold-water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution, and plumbing.
  • •Have knowledge of building fabric maintenance and planned maintenance systems with record keeping experience.
  • •Know relevant statutory requirements and have experience with compliance.
  • •Hold a full driving licence and have a building/electrical/plumbing qualification (City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC, etc) or at least 3 years’ hands-on property maintenance and general repairs experience.
  • •Be able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, be computer literate, and have good customer service skills.
