Job Summary

Provide 24/7 monitoring, detection, and response for customer environments as a Tier II Threat Analyst on the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) team. Investigate security-related events using Sophos tooling, escalate and guide investigations, and support threat hunting and incident response. Create and manage cases through threat neutralization, communicate findings to technical and executive audiences, and continuously improve processes using threat intelligence, metrics, and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

•Investigate and analyze logs and security events using Sophos tooling, and provide best-in-class monitoring, detection, and response for customer environments.
•Handle Tier I escalations by guiding and advising on investigation handling, and collaborate with threat response teams.
•Create and manage cases through threat neutralization, and communicate findings to customer audiences including technical and executive teams.
•Actively research emerging indicators of compromise/attack, exploits, and vulnerabilities, and conduct threat hunting across the MDR customer base.
•Obtain metrics for threat trend reporting and support security operations process improvement and creation.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of experience working in a SOC environment or computer security team in an IT environment.
•Endpoint and network security experience, including IDS, IPS, EDR, ATP, and malware defenses/monitoring.
•Experience with threat hunting and familiarity with common adversary tactics and techniques (e.g., obfuscation, persistence, defense evasion).
•Strong Windows skills, including Windows event log analysis and administering/supporting Windows OS (workstations and server).
•Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK and incident response procedures, with scripting skills (PowerShell) and experience with SIEM data management.
