Job Summary

Remove non-metallic material, metal, and debris at the shredder and non-ferrous picking belts while maintaining compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Perform yard cleanup and maintenance (digging, sweeping, weed/brush control, blacktop repair), assist with shear/shredder cleanup and greasing, and report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions. Support repairs, maintenance, and backup assistance throughout the yard as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

•Discard or remove products and materials to ensure adherence to established specifications.
•Strictly adhere to Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
•Perform general clean up and yard maintenance, including digging, sweeping, weed and brush maintenance, and blacktop repair.
•Remove non-metallic material, metal, and debris at the shredder and non-ferrous picking belts; grease and assist with cleanup at the shear and/or shredder.
•Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions to the proper supervisor and assist with repairs/maintenance as required.

•Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagrammatic form.
•Ability to learn new tasks as assigned.
•Physical ability to perform activities requiring considerable use of arms and legs, including climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
•Experience in a scrap yard preferred.
•Must meet age requirements (U.S. applicants 18+, Canada applicants 16+).
