Define and drive an AI-first strategy for Workday Payroll’s US payroll tax and compliance capabilities. Partner with engineering, ML, design, and compliance/legal teams to translate evolving regulatory requirements into clear product roadmaps, intelligent monitoring, automated notifications, and guided workflows. Validate solutions with customers and prospects, use research and prioritization to shape the backlog, and support customer success by detailing requirements and documentation for trustworthy, auditable AI features.

•Deeply understand US payroll tax, compliance, and statutory requirements and how they appear in customer processes and operations.
•Assess workflows and customer touch points for compliance notifications and tax updates, identifying opportunities to streamline and automate with AI and other technologies.
•Define product vision and roadmap for AI-driven compliance capabilities such as monitoring, automated notifications, suggested configuration changes, impact analysis, and guided workflows.
•Partner with engineering, ML, and design to translate regulatory requirements and customer pain points into product requirements and user experiences.
•Engage with customers and prospects to validate problems and solutions, gather feedback, and support customer success through replication-step reviews and requirement details.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 148,000 - 222,000 annually

Key Requirements

•6+ years of product management (or closely related) experience delivering software products.
•4+ years of hands-on experience with US payroll taxes and compliance.
•Experience in a relevant role (business analyst, product manager, support analyst, or consultant) in the payroll or HCM domain.
•Deep confirmed understanding of US payroll tax and compliance and how regulatory changes impact payroll operations.
•Comfort translating business problems into AI-powered use cases and reasoning about accuracy, explainability, and user trust.
